We are particularly pleased with the involvement of international programs in the Leadership Academy established at the initiative of the “Davit Bezhuashvili Education Foundation.” For three days, Sabado hosted the Harvard program. This collaboration brings prestige and new opportunities to Sabado and to our future leaders. With the mentorship of Harvard University students, the HPAIR Leadership Program was implemented on the Manglisi campus of Sabado. It was especially noteworthy that the individuals sharing their experience were not from an older generation, but rather peers—students of Harvard University. Their goals, habits, behaviors, perspectives, and, most importantly, their shared language were significantly more accessible and relatable for the students of Sabado—fostering greater freedom and stronger common interests.
The intensive and diverse program included: a Model United Nations (MUN) simulation; the development by students of projects connected to their own highest areas of interest; and sessions designed to strengthen public speaking and negotiation skills.
The final portion of the program was dedicated to panels on university-related matters. Mentors shared their experience and advice with the students of Sabado.
These three days did not consist solely of sessions and instruction. This is precisely what distinguishes Sabado. In parallel with the instructional sessions, both the mentors and the students of Sabado engaged in sports and team-based activities. The range of options at Sabado is quite broad. Learning and recreation combined—this is what makes the days at Sabado truly memorable.
