The Mobile Museum of American History has begun its journey. After Tbilisi, the exhibits will be displayed in three regions of Georgia. The Georgian Industrial Group provided financial support for the initiative of the Center for American Culture and the US Embassy.
In the first phase, the number of exhibits is relatively small, but impressive. As the trip progresses, the exhibit space will be updated with new exhibits.
Letters from the White House, including letters from American presidents and first ladies, a vinyl recording of John F. Kennedy's inaugural address, the first Barbie dolls, and the first metal Coca Cola can. Of particular interest among the exhibits are the products of American businessmen of Georgian descent - Prince Machabeli's perfume and Grigol Kobakhidze-Kobis' glass Christmas toys, invented by him. So the Georgians’ contribution to the American history can be seen among the exhibits.
The American History Museum took its start from Tbilisi. The main idea of this action is acquaintance with the history of American culture, politics, business and history. What are the values of the young state, how democracy was born and developed.... Rising public awareness is always interesting for GIG, we always support such initiatives.
The opening of the museum was addressed by the cultural attaché of the US Embassy and the CEO of the Georgian Industrial Group.
