Levan Vepkhvadze, Adviser to the General Director of "Georgian Industrial Group", addressed the joint Session of the United Nations Economic Council (UNECE) coal mate experts and the United States Environmental Agency (EPA) Global Methane Initiative (GMI) at the UN Geneva Office.

It is important that the experts shared the opinion of Levan Vepkhvadze that the state should support private initiatives of methane commercial acquisition, which is directly related to the global warming problem. This initiative is also important for the increase of security during coal mining works in shafts.
In addition, a group of experts requested that the workshop of UNECE Group of Experts and Regional Countries to be held in Georgia in September 2018, where the Parties will receive the necessary information on technological innovation in obtaining coal mines from shafts, as well as the legal and institutional models existing in countries successful in this field.
