Chairman, of the Energy Committee of Georgian Business Association, Levan Vepkhvadze reviewed the amendments planned to be made into the legislation at the extended meeting together with the leading executives of the company and field of energy.
On September 26, Energy Committee of Georgian Business Association hosted the leading persons of National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, Electricity Market Operator and State Electrosystem.
Amendments made on September 30 into the law on Electricity and natural gas were reviewed at the committee meeting that was already attended by the representatives of member companies of association and invited guests. According to the mentioned changes some companies will have to be registered as a direct consumer of the electricity from the upcoming year. In addition, limit of deregulated power plant increases from 13 MW to 40 MW.
Chairman of the Committee, Levan Vepkhvadze stated, that working with the Ministry of Energy will continue in regard of the problems highlighted during the meeting in order to transfer to a new market model without causing any problems to the market participants.
Chairwoman of National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission Irina Milorava, General Director of Electricity Market Operator Vakhtang Ambokadze and Head of Operational Planning and Agreement Registration Service of the State Electrosystem Mikheil Tavberidze spoke about the tariffs of electricity production - transfer – delivery, existing market model, procedures and rules related to the purchase of electricity.
